Spiritual Parenting

For parents of children of all ages, First Parish offers Spiritual Parenting meetings. This lay-led group meets approximately 6 times a year for a themed parenting discussion and camaraderie.

Examples of past topics include:

• Ask the experienced: an opportunity to ask question of parents with grown kids.
• What do we want for our kids?  How to we help them get there?
• Reasons and ways to integrate rituals into your family routine.
• Answering kids’ questions about God.
• Is there couplehood after parenthood?
• Guiding kids using a UU version of the 10 Commandments.
• Nature, wonder, and nurturing the spirits of our children.

Spiritual Parenting meetings include on-site childcare during the 1-hour discussion at the cost of $5 per child. The potluck meal following most of our meetings gives families further time to connect with each other. Parents are strongly encouraged to RSVP to the Spiritual Parenting coordinator(s) at least a week before the meeting to coordinate childcare.
